Get Ahead in FCE is an exciting new course for students preparing for the Cambridge ESOL First Certificate exam. It deals with all four skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking – tested in the exam. It also includes grammar and vocabulary at Level B2 of the Common European Framework which is essential for students in order to do well in the FCE exam.
The Student’s Book contains 10 theme-based units that consist of:
a lead-in section with speaking activities all three parts of Paper I: Reading
additional classroom activities for each reading text: lead-in discussion; a variety of reading tasks; vocabulary exercises
a variety of reading comprehension and vocabulary exercises for each reading text a variety of vocabulary exercises, including practice on easily confused words grammar theory and exercises
FCE-specific speaking activities to help students increase their fluency and accuracy
FCE-specific writing tasks with additional exercises and writing tips
FCE-specific listening, plus listening support
a mini Use of English test at the end of each unit.
